Mirjan fort which is situated in Kumta taluk has been built by Diwan Mirza Ismail. The view of beautiful cities and rivers,from the top of the fort gives you immense pleasure.
This fort is located just 1 km off the NH 17 on the left turn by the side of the fish market in Mirjan town, which is located 8 kms away from Kumta town enroute to Ankola or Goa.

The Bhairaveshwara Shikhara and the Mohini Shikhara are the two main peaks of Yana. These unique rock formations made of black crystalline limestone make Yana a popular trekking spot. The Bhairaveshwara peak is about 120 meters and the Mohini peak is about 90 meters. Bhairaveshwara shikhara base also has a cave temple of Lord Shiva. Water drips from the projecting rocks over the Shiva linga, and people call this water as Gangodbhava.
It is situated at distance of 50 kms from either Kumta or Sirsi. You can take a bus going to Mattighatta Devanahalli through Hegdekatte and get down at Vaddi Cross and take a walk for 6 kms to reach Yana. With a private vehicle, you can reach as close as 3 kms to the rocks. Alternative route will be to go through Anegundi which is near Katgal.
